Summary of Programs & Services
2010-2011

May 2010
In May of 2010, the GTSA sponsored the New Jersey High School Band Gala, a day-long event at Rowan University in Glassboro NJ, that featured performances by 12 of New Jersey's most accomplished high school bands. These bands were selected from over 150 high school bands from all 21 counties in New Jersey that auditioned competitively to participate in this event.

September 2010
In September of 2010, the GTSA provided music for a special event sponsored by the New Jersey Secretary of State for a delegation of business leaders from the People's Republic of China. Chiu-Tse Lin, a concert pianist originally from China, performed a program of traditional and contemporary Chinese music for this event in the War Memorial's George Washington Ballroom.

November 2010
In November of 2010, the GTSA, in conjunction with the New Jersey Band Association, sponsored a day-long seminar at Montclair State University for high school and middle school music educators.

December 2010
In December of 2010, the GTSA produced two large-scale symphony orchestra concerts at Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton: a Holiday Concert featuring the world-renowned Celtic Tenors on December 4 and the annual New Year's Eve Concert on December 31. Both concerts were very well received and generated sufficient income to cover our costs.

January/February 2011
In January of 2011, the GTSA, in collaboration with the New Jersey Band Association, organized the 2011 New Jersey Intercollegiate Band, consisting of 65 of the state's top music students from 7 colleges and universities in New Jersey. Weekly rehearsals of this ensemble were held from January 30 to February 20, 2011 at The College of New Jersey. Performances by the New Jersey Intercollegiate Band took place on February 24 at the New Jersey Music Educators Association Annual Conference in East Brunswick, and at a special performance for the 200+ members of the New Jersey All-State Band at Nicholas Music Center at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Also in February of 2011, the GTSA presented an educational concert by the Philadelphia Sinfonia at Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton.

May 2011
In May of 2011, the GTSA once again sponsors the New Jersey High School Band Gala, a day-long event at Kean University in Union NJ, that features performances by 12 of New Jersey's most accomplished high school bands. These bands were selected from over 150 high school bands from all 21 counties in New Jersey that auditioned competitively to participate in this event.
